Frequently Asked Questions
About Belek
Belek was planned as the golf capital of Turkey, a luxury resort strip where pine forest meets a long sandy beach. More than fifteen championship-standard golf courses, five-star resorts and spa centres attract a premium clientele. Its closeness to Aspendos and Perge makes it easy to add ancient history to a beach holiday.
Highlights
- ◆ Aspendos Theatre — the best preserved Roman theatre in the world, about 20 km away
- ◆ International golf courses — championship layouts maintained all year
- ◆ The Land of Legends — theme park, aquapark and shopping street
- ◆ Kurşunlu Waterfall — a waterfall and nature park in the forest, about 30 km away
- ◆ Perge Ancient City — a Roman city with stadium, baths and colonnaded street
- ◆ Boğazkent — a quiet coastal village away from the crowds
Places to Visit
The classic day trip from Belek combines Aspendos, Perge and the Kurşunlu Waterfall. The theatre at Aspendos, celebrated for its acoustics, hosts an opera and ballet festival in summer. For families, The Land of Legends theme park is the most popular stop in the region.
Beaches and Sea
Around twenty kilometres of uninterrupted beach run between pine woods and the hotels. The sand is fine to medium grained and the sea deepens slowly. Belek and Boğazkent public beaches are free alternatives, and most hotel beaches hold a Blue Flag.
Activities and Tours
Golf defines the area, alongside spa and wellness, horse riding, tennis and football training camps. Jeep safaris, Köprülü Canyon rafting, boat trips and ancient-city tours are all arranged with transfers.
Where to Stay, Eat and Shop
Hotels are mainly four and five star, all-inclusive and beachfront, many with aquaparks and conference facilities. Dining is largely inside the resorts, with a strip of restaurants and cafés in Belek centre and Kadriye. Nightlife is calm and family-oriented.
When to Visit
May to October is the swimming season. For golf, March to May and September to November are preferred, as the courses are at their best outside the summer heat.
Transfer Tip
The airport is about 35 km away, a 30-40 minute drive. If you are travelling with golf bags, a pushchair or extra luggage, note it in your booking and we will send a vehicle with the right capacity.
